Today's society is quick moving, fast paced and often centered around air travel. People want to be there now â and air travel can be the fastest way to get there. It can also be the longest route. Make sure your next experience with air travel runs smooth.
1. Prepare for security. Air travel today is not as easy or as quick as it once was. It has been hindered by all the security measures that have had to be implemented. Be sure that you allow time for getting through the security process and that you follow all the FAA guidelines for packing so that you are not detained during your check-in.
2. Plan to settle down for a while. Although the actual trip can be fastest with air travel, there is also a lot of "hurry up and wait" involved. Find ways to utilize your time by catching up on your reading or even use the free WiFi available in most terminals to catch up on some work.
3. Pack a snack. Many airlines have been cutting back on the amenities offered during flight. Pack a snack and a drink in your carry on bag (get the drink AFTER you check in to the terminal to avoid a security hassle) so that you can fully enjoy your air travel experience.
4. Provide for the unexpected. Be sure to include necessities, a change of clothes and anything else that will keep you going in your carry-on bag. If the airline looses your bags or if your flight gets delayed, you can still enjoy your airline travel experience because of your foresight.
Air travel can be quick and easy on good days and a nightmare on those bad days. Make sure your experience is pleasant no matter what the circumstances by planning ahead and following the rules.
