Airline Prices

Airline prices are sure to go up as the fuel prices continue to rise. Having to pay more for the ability to get there fast wouldn't be such a problem, if you were actually going to get there. Airlines will have a hard time pushing a price increase as long as the service continues to be what it is.

Part of the problem that air travel faces is all the regulations. It takes so long to get into the airport for most flights that many people are being required to arrive several hours in advance. Sometimes this means waiting for long periods in the terminal – never a good predicament when you are traveling with children. If airline prices are going to go up then the airlines need to find ways to make air travel more enjoyable, more accessible, and more consistent.

When you travel by air today, you may have a ticket but that doesn't mean you will be traveling according to that ticket. You may have checked your luggage, but that doesn't mean that it will arrive when you do (or at all). There are too many "what ifs" involved in air travel as it is to be able to justify increases in airline prices no matter what fuel costs might rise to.

If air travel wants to make its way back to the prominent spot it deserves in the travel industry it will have to put the customer first. If the customer is satisfied with the experience then seeing an increase in airline prices will not be much of a shock. As long as there are a high percentage of unsatisfied customers, the airlines have a long ways to go before they can ask for more. Increasing airline prices may be something that the airlines need to do to stay in the air, but customers are just as necessary.
