There are a number of ways to save money during your next business travel event. It doesn't take a lot of energy or much pre-planning and you could cut your expenditures in half.
1. When you have business travel that requires a hotel stay, find a hotel that offers reward points. You can build up your points during your future business travel and eventually earn discounts or even a free night stay.
2. Check the location where you will be doing most of your business travel. You may find some local bars or restaurants that offer happy hour deals for visitors. It can be a great way to save on your dinning budget.
3. Be sure that your business travel lands you in a hotel that offers free FULL breakfasts in the mornings. Although many of the continental breakfasts have expanded, there is nothing quite as nice as a hot breakfast cooked to order.
4. When you arrive at you business travel location, do a little shopping. Purchase water, drinks or snacks from a local grocery store. The hotel options will cost about four times as much and you won't have near the selections that you can find at the grocery store.
5. Every hotel that you will encounter during your business travel experiences will have different guidelines. Know what amenities are free and what amenities will cost extra. Some hotels will charge up to a full dollar for local calls.
6. Eat you big meal at lunch when you have business travel that keeps you away for the whole day. You may even be able to save half of your lunch and take it back to the hotel room for your dinner later.
Business travel doesn't have to be expensive. By cutting a few costs along the way you can really add up your savings.
