Cheap Airfare Prices

The days of cheap airfare prices might be fading into the past for most of us. It only takes the one company raising prices to "cover fuel" and soon all the other airlines will follow. Having to pay a little extra might not be as bad if the quality of service was equal to what is being paid for airfare at present.

Even as the cheap airfare prices continue to rise, they are still less expensive than the alternatives that most travelers face. Automotive fuel continues to skyrocket and train travel is just not accessible to enough locations. Right now air travel is the best, fast way to get to where you need to be.

Cheap airfare prices may be a thing of the past, but the cheap conditions that came with them are likely here to stay. Airline companies know that they have control on quick transportation and they continue to leverage that control to try and gain as much profit as they can. Traditional economics says that if they offer the quality service at a reasonable price then the profits will follow.

If the airlines could just provide a few amenities and be more considerate to the customer then they wouldn't be struggling to fill seats and make a profit. They could start offering even better cheap airfare prices instead of raising the price. Profits for the airlines would sore as travelers would chose air transportation even when they didn't have to just because of the quality, price and convenience.

It is unlike that the cheap airline prices that are wished for will even come to life. The companies involved in air transportation were never required to stand on their own – allowing the government to "fix" the system. What that means is that instead of cheap airline prices consumers are now paying higher prices for less service and that trend will likely continue.
