Overview

Aer Arann operated its first flight in 1970 off the west coast of Ireland, and has since expanded its flight options to offer over 600 flights per week spanning Ireland, northern France and the United Kingdom. The airline also operates the ATR 72-500, an environmentally friendly carrier that is considered to be the world's 'greenest' aircraft.

Check-in Information

You can check in online, at check-in desks, at the departure gate or at self-service kiosks at the airport. Check-in times vary by airport, and Aer Arann encourages travelers to arrive at least 60-90 minutes before departure. Aer Arann is proud to offer the lowest check-in time in Ireland and no check-in fees. Passengers can complete an online check-in from 72 hours up to 3 hours prior to their flight.

Baggage Costs

Carry on - One item of carry on weighing up to 7 kg with maximum dimensions of 20 cm x 28 cm x 43 cm (8 x 11 x 14ins). Hand luggage must not contain any prohibited items.

Checked - Passengers are allowed to check baggage up to 15 kgs at no extra charge. No checked baggage are permitted with the online check-in process. A maximum of 20kg (44 lbs) is allowed per passenger on all flights with a maximum total weight of any bag of 32 kg (70 lbs).

Additional bags - Additional bags and those that go beyond the checked baggage weight limit will incur fees and charges. Excess baggage fees are 5 Euros ($7) per kg, and will only be accepted if there is space available on the plane.

Passenger Change Details

For route changes, changes or refunds, passengers must contact the reservations center and provide identification details. Change fees and charges may apply. Flight and route changes can be made up to 30 minutes before the departure, and cost 25 Euros ($30) for domestic flight and route changes and 40 Euros ($54) for name changes.

Child Fares

Children under two years of age may fly on Aer Arann by sitting on an adult's lap. The fee for the child fare is 10 Euros ($14) each way. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Pet Fees

Dogs and cats can be taken aboard the flight on domestic and UK routes, and can only be taken in the baggage hold. A maximum of two pets are allowed per plane, and a fee of 25 Euros ($33) per pet, per flight will be charged. Guide dogs are accommodated for in the passenger cabin at no extra charge, and all pets must be older than 10 weeks.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Musical instruments that exceed carry-on dimensions may be carried in a paid or reserved seat. Other instruments will be considered carry on luggage and may need to be checked in as baggage. All instruments are carried at the passenger's own risk for loss, damage or delays. Baggage insurance is recommend for this type of equipment.

Aer Arann serves a pay bar menu aboard all Aer Arann scheduled flights and accepts both Euro and Sterling. Food choices include Doolittles sandwiches, tea and coffee, ishka spring water, beer and wine, and snack foods including Pot Noodles, Walkers Shortbread and Divine Fair Trade chocolate.
