Check-in Information

Aer Lingus recommends arriving at the airport at least 3.5 hours for long-haul routes, and 2.5 hours for domestic routes (UK and European flights).Aer Lingus check-in desks close 45 minutes before departure.

Baggage Costs

Carry on- Passengers may bring one piece of carry-on baggage on their flight with maximum dimensions of 22 x 10 x 18 in and a maximum weight of 13 lbs. For flights departing from the United Kingdom, luggage cannot exceed 6in x 14in x 18in.

Checked - Aer Lingus charges a checked bag fee for short-haul flights; fees are 5 Euros per bag if paid online, and 8 Euros per bag if paid at the airport. Passengers flying to the United States may carry two free bags with a combine weight less than 80 lbs; no single bag can weigh more than 70 lbs. Passengers may also take up to two free bags on flights to Dubai, with a combined weight of less than 44 lbs.

Additional bags - Excess baggage fees vary by destination; a fee of 8 Euros per kg overweight is applied for all short-haul routes and flights to Dubai, and a fee of 40 Euros for flights to the United States that weigh between 80 lbs. and 100 lbs. Baggage that weighs between 100-140 lbs will incur a fee of 80 Euros (US flights).

Child Fares

Aer Lingus offers child fares at up to 90 percent of the adult fare, depending on the destination and age of the child. Check with the reservations department to learn what the final ticket price for children may be.

Pet Fees

Aer Lingus only accepts pets as cargo, and there are some days in which pets cannot fly our airline. All passengers must provide extensive documentation about their pets when making initial reservations.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Passengers may carry medium to large musical instruments on a paid, reserved seat. Small musical instruments may be considered carryon luggage and stored safely in the overhead bins.
