Check-in Information

AeroMexico passengers on international flights are encouraged to check in at least three hours prior to departure. Passengers flying within Mexico may check in up to 30 - 60 minutes before departure depending on whether they have baggage. Passengers without a boarding pass are encouraged to check in at least 60 - 90 minutes prior to departure.

Baggage Costs

Carry on - Passengers may take up to one piece of carry on luggage on their flight, and this cannot exceed 114 cm (45 inches). Carry on must be stored in an overhead compartment or placed under the seat throughout the flight.

Checked - Checked baggage cannot exceed 55 lbs. for domestic economy flights. Passengers on international flights may take up to two pieces of baggage each with a combined weight of 140 lbs and linear dimensions that do not exceed 62 inches.

All flight and route changes must be made through the reservations desk in person, or over the phone.

Child Fares

Children under two years of age who can sit in their own seat, and children between the ages of two and eleven years are charged 67 percent of an adult fare. Any child under two years who is seated on an adult's lap for the flight may travel for free.

Senior Fares
Seniors that hold a senior citizen's registration card from Mexico (INSEN) and are 60 years of age or older may pay 90 percent of the standard adult fare.

Pet Fees

Cats, dogs, and small caged birds are the only pets permitted on AeroMexico flights, and pet owners must submit all documentation about the pet during the reservations process. Pets may only fly in the baggage hold, and must be caged. A fee of $35 is charged for pets on domestic flights, and $100 for international flights. Seeing eye dogs and other medically-justified animals may fly for free.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Musical instruments under 45 inches in total area are considered to be a carry-on item; larger instruments may be carried on a paid, reserved seat. Passengers may also choose to check-in instruments as baggage.
