AirTran Airways serves dozens of key cities around the United Stats including Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Phoenix, AZ; Newark, NJ; New Orleans, LA; and Washington, DC. AirTrain Airways has also partnered with resorts and travel groups to offer vacation travel to Gulfport and Biloxi, and vacation sites in Florida.

Baggage Fees
Carry-On
AirTran passengers may take one piece of hand luggage and one personal item that does not exceed linear dimensions of 55 inches. A laptop may be considered carryon luggage as long as it is securely enclosed in an approved case or bag.
Passenger Change Details
Passengers may change name, route or itinerary details by contacting the reservations department at least 24 hours before the flight departure. The itinerary fee is $50 plus any increases in airfare.

Children up to two years of age who can comfortably sit in an adult's lap may fly for free. All other children may travel at the standard rate.

Small dogs, cats and birds may travel under the seat of the passenger in an approved kennel for a fee of $65 each way. Requirements vary by flight, and passengers are encouraged to contact the reservations department to confirm that their pets qualify for onboard travel.

Musical instruments weighing less than 40 lbs. and measuring under 55 inches in total area may be taken as carry-on items on board. Larger instruments are also permitted on board, as long as the passenger has paid for an additional seat.

AirTran passengers are permitted to check in two pieces of baggage with a combined weight of 70 lbs. The maximum size permitted for the first bag is 62 inches, and 55 inches for the second bag.
