Overview
Asia Air is a low-cost airline based in Malaysia and offers low fares and no-frills service to domestic and international destinations. The airline's sister airlines are Indonesia Air Asia and Thai Air Asia, and its main base is at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The airline operates over 200 flights per day to over 75 domestic and international routes.

Where Do They Fly?
Routes include Malaysia, Thailand, the People's Republic of China, Cambodia, Australia, the United Kingdom and the Philippines. In 2008, 19 new routes were introduced to the Air Asia network.

Check-in Information
Self check-in services are available, allowing passengers to check in online, at the kiosk, or with mobile check-in. Passengers are encouraged to drop off their baggage at the self check-in counter at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Web check in is available 48 hours prior and 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. Mobile check in is available 48 hours and 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. Kiosk check-in is available 6 hours before and 1 hour before departure time.

Baggage Fees
Carry on
One piece of carry-on per passenger is permitted, as long as it is under 7 kg and cannot be larger than 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm.

Checked
Checked baggage weight limitations are 15 kg per bag, and checked baggage can be pre-booked for a lower fee. Checked baggage will be charged on a per piece basis. Pre-booked checked baggage is THB30 per piece and needs to be booked more than 4 hours before departure. Each passenger can pre-book up to 5 pieces of checked baggage.

Additional bags
Excess baggage fees are imposed based on the weight and dimensions of the bag. Checked baggage in excess of 15 kilograms is subject to an excess baggage charge.

Passenger Change Details
If a cancellation must be made, the airline can credit the fare to an account under certain circumstances, but the flight must be rebooked within three months.

Child Fares
Children below the age of 12 years are only allowed to travel on Asia Air if accompanied by a person who is at least 18 years of age. Different charges and fees apply for children and infants based on the destination.
