Copa Airlines is based in Panama City and is the national flag carrier airline of Panama. The airline's main base of operations is at Tocumen International Airport, and the airline was founded in 1947. The airline started with domestic flights to three cities in Panama, and by the 1970s, had expanded its network of destination cities. In September 2001, the airline was given The Award of Excellence by America Economia magazine, and named the Best Airline in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean in 2008 by SkyTrax.

Carry on
One piece of carry-on luggage is permitted per passenger. This cannot exceed 46 linear inches and 22lbs.
Checked
One piece of checked baggage is permitted free of charge for both business and main cabin class travelers. Each piece can measure up to 62 combined linear inches, and must meet certain weight requirements depending on the route.
Additional bags
Excess baggage fees between $50 to $100 are imposed on bag that exceed minimum weight and size requirements. All excess baggage will be transported subject to space availability. Restrictions may apply for certain routes.

Cancellations are permitted without charges or penalties for 24 hours after a purchase. Penalties are imposed on cancellations and changes outside of this window, and fees vary depending on the ticket and route.

Child Fares
Children under two years of age are considered infants and must travel accompanied by an adult. The fare for infants who sit on an adult's lap is equivalent to 10% of the published adult fare. A standard child discount is available for children between the ages of 2 and 11 depending on the route.

Pet Fees
Certain types of pets are permitted as checked or carry-on baggage as long as they meet size and weight limits. Containers that are transported inside the passenger cabin must be no larger than 14in W, 22in L and 9 in H. Only one animal is permitted per container, and the total number of containers permitted inside the passenger cabin is limited to three per flight. The fee for pets is $75 per cage or container. Seeing eye dogs and certain kinds of monkeys are permitted on board for special needs passengers.
