The airline is based out of Denver, Colorado and flew its first route in 1994. Check in

Airport ticket counters are open 2 hours before the flight’s departure, but passengers can check in baggage up to four hours before their flight. Hours of operation for ticket counters vary by location.

Baggage

Carry on
Passengers are permitted to take one personal item in addition to one carryon bag on their flight. The carryon bag should not weigh more than 35lbs and cannot exceed dimensions of 49 linear inches. Carry on luggage must fit underneath the seat or securely in an overhead compartment.

Checked
All checked baggage cannot exceed 62 linear inches in length or weigh more than 50 pounds. As of September 13, 2008, the following fees apply for checked baggage: 1st item $15, 2nd Item $25, 3rd item or more $50

Additional bags
A $50 fee is imposed for baggage that exceeds dimension parameters or weight limitations. Baggage that weighs more than 100 pounds or exceeds 80 linear inches is not accepted on board.

Passenger change details

Since Frontier Airlines tickets are bargain-priced and non-transferable, name changes are not permitted. A $100 change fee will be imposed for any flight rescheduling or itinerary changes; a Frontier Airlines reservations agent can handle any flight and ticket changes over the phone or at the ticket counter.

Child fares

Children under two years of age may travel for free if they can comfortably sit on an adult’s lap. Children over two years of age who require an extra seat can fly at the standard fare.

Pets

Two animals per passenger are permitted on select flights and are considered to be checked baggage; however, guide dogs/service animals are allowed to travel in the cabin. Fees are $200 per round trip per pet.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Musical instruments, amplifiers, speakers and other musical equipment may be taken aboard as checked baggage or carry on if it meets the baggage allowance. Passengers may also purchase an extra seat for oversized items after obtaining approval from the airline.

In-flight service

Frontier Airlines offers an inflight entertainment console for music programs, as wella s DIRECTV stations for Airbus flights. Disney programming is available on select flights, and passengers can also enjoy the in flight magazine WILD BLUE YONDER.

Air miles

EarlyReturns is the mileage program available for Frontier Airlines passengers.

Airline food (menus)

Frontier Airlines offers an in-flight snack service that includes gourmet sandwiches, trail mix, chips and salsa, salads, granola and bottled water. Each of these items can be purchased a la carte on most flights. Frontier Airlines also offers a full complimentary beverage service with Coca Cola products, and limited beverage service on short haul flights. Alcoholic beverages are available for $6 each.
