Overview
Midwest Airlines is a discount airline that offers domestic flights to several key cities in North America. It was formerly known as Midwest Express and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is famous for its freshly baked chocolate chip cookies as part of the Midwest Experience, and offers affordable flights to several destinations around the country in partnership with American Airlines and Frontier Airlines.

Check in

Passengers are encouraged to check in at least 90 minutes before departure. Check in can be completed at the service counter, online, or at a self-service kiosks at select airports. Online check-in is available up to 24 hours but no later than 1.5 hours before departure.

Baggage

Carry on - Passengers may take one handbag and one personal item on board their flight. Carry-on luggage must fit in an overhead bin and the personal item must be tucked under the seat in front. The carry-on item can not be larger than 21 x 15 x 9 inches or weigh more than 50 lbs.

Checked - Bags may not exceed 50 lbs and cannot be larger than 62 linear inches. Checked baggage charges are as follows:

$15 each way (nonstop or connect) for the first piece of checked baggage.
$25 each way (nonstop or connect) for the second piece of checked baggage
$100 each way (nonstop or connect) for each piece exceeding the second.

Additional bags - Excess, overweight and oversized baggage fees are as follows:

$20 each way (nonstop or connect) for the second piece of checked baggage.
$100 each way (nonstop or connect) for each piece exceeding the second.
$50 each way (nonstop or connect) for each piece 51-70 lbs.
$65 each way (nonstop or connect) for each piece 71-100 lbs.
$80 each way (nonstop or connect) for each piece 63"-115".
$80 each way (nonstop or connect) for each bicycle.

Passenger change details

Passengers may cancel a reservation, view reservation details and make minor changes using the Manage Reservations feature on the website. Changes can only be made on refundable tickets, and name changes typically cost $50.

Child fares

Children under the age of 2 can fly for 50 percent of the adult rate when accompanied by an individual 12 years of age or older. Child fares are available for travelers between the ages of 2 and 21 years.

Senior fares

Senior discounts are available on select fares for travelers who are 55 years of age or older.

Pets

Midwest allows up to three small dogs and/or domestic cats on board each aircraft as long as they are transported in an approved soft-sided carrier and stowed in the cabin. Approved pet carriers may be purchased through Midwest.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Musical instruments may be considered carry-on luggage or checked baggage if they meet standard baggage allowance requirements. Passengers may purchase a separate seat for oversized or fragile instruments.

In-flight service

Midwest serves beverages and snacks on board most flights, and freshly baked cookies are always complimentary. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased for $4 - $8 depending on the drink and meals are also available for purchase on select flights.

Air miles

Midwest Miles is the frequent flyer program available for all travelers, and these miles can be redeemed with American Airlines and Frontier Airlines partners.

The 'Midwest Experience' food menus change by season and offered on select flights.
