Overview
Thai Airways is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand and operates domestic, regional and intercontinental flights from its home base in Bangkok. The company was founded in 1960 as a joint venture between Thai Airways Company (TAC) and Scandinavian Airlines Systems (SAS).

Check-in Information
Check in counters open three hours before scheduled departure time for international flights and two hours before scheduled departure for domestic flights. Counters close 30 minutes before scheduled departure time. Internet check in is also available.

Baggage Fees
Carry on
Each passenger can carry one piece of carry on baggage no larger than 56 cmx45cm x 25 cm, and no heavier than 15 lbs (7 kg). Carry on items must be placed in the overhead rack or under the seat.

Checked
Two pieces of checked baggage are permitted for Royal First Class/Royal Silk Class passengers, and two pieces of checked baggage are permitted for Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers. The sum of the three dimensions for these bags should not exceed 158 cm (62 inches for each bag), and the maximum weight per piece should not be more than 32 kgs (70 lbs).

Excess baggage fees may apply depending on the route. Check with the carrier for specific fees on each route. Fees range from $25 to $119 depending on the size and weight.

Fees for changes vary by destination, route and time of change request. Passengers need to contact the reservations department by phone to confirm ticket changes.

Child Fares
Passengers are permitted to travel with a newborn infant who is at least 7 days old. An infant fare will be applied, and the infant will not be assigned a seat. Baby bassinettes are available on flights that are over 2 hours. For children between 5 and 17 years of age, an adult fare is charged for children who are unaccompanied minors ($60 per flight). For domestic routes in Thailand, the fare is 50% of the normal fare for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age.

Pet Fees
Advanced arrangements must be made for pet travel services. Domesticated cats and dogs are permitted in the cabin with a maximum weight of 10 kgs including the container. The container cannot be larger than 55inx37inx30in. The pet, including the container, will be charged as excess baggage.
