As one of the largest airlines in the United States, US Airways offers discount flight services to over 230 destinations around the world. The airline merged with America West in 2005 and is a member of the Star Alliance network.

Check in

Passengers may check for their flight as early as 24 hours and up to 90 minutes prior to departure using the Web Check-in service. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at the boarding gate no later than 30 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure for international flights.

Baggage

Carry on
Passengers may take one carry-on item and one personal item on board. The carry-on item cannot be larger than 51 linear inches and must be stored under the seat or in an overhead compartment.

Checked
Passengers must pay a $15 fee for the first checked bag and a $25 fee for the second checked bag. Airports that offer curbside check-in will assess an additional $2 fee per bag. The third through ninth checked bag will incur a fee of $100.

Additional bags
The first checked bag weighing between 51-70 lbs will be assessed a fee of $65, and the first checked bag weighing between 71-100 lbs will be assessed a fee of $115. The second checked bag weighing between 51-70 lbs will be assessed a fee of $75, and the second checked bag weighing between 71-100 lbs will be assessed a fee of $125. The third through ninth checked bags weighing between 51-70 lbs will be assessed a fee of $150, and the third through ninth checked bags weighing between 71-100 lbs will be assessed a fee of $200.

Passenger change details

Passengers may make changes to their ticket online, and a fee will be assessed on non-refundable tickets. Name changes are not accepted, but standby flight changes can be made on the day of departure for a fee of $25. Administrative fees of $100+ may apply for re-booking.

Child fares

Children's fares are available on select routes, and passengers traveling with children must contact the reservations desk to confirm tickets and seat availability. Infants under 24 months of age may travel for free when sitting comfortably on an accompanying adult's lap.

Senior fares

Seniors who are enrolled in the AARP savers program are eligible for discounted fares on select flights.

Pets

Passengers traveling with pets must make advanced reservations with a booking agent. One small domestic dog, cat or bird per passenger is accepted in the cabin for a fee of $100 each way. Carry-on pets are not permitted on transatlantic flights or on flights to /from Barbados and Hawaii. Any pets transported in the cabin must be counted towards the carry-on baggage allowance, and must sit inside an approved carrier in under the seat in front of the passenger.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Musical instruments may be considered to be carry on luggage if they are not larger than 45 linear inches. Passengers may purchase an extra seat for oversized or fragile items.

In-flight service

US Airways offers spacious seating, meals and snacks, complimentary beverages, in-flight entertainment and business tools on select flights and on various classes. Special meals and services may be reserved in advance by contacting the reservations agent.

US Airways offers several meal options for passengers flying Coach, Transatlantic Economy Class and First Class. Passengers flying coach may purchase a meal, snack or beverage with cash with the In-Flight Cafe program. Passengers flying Transatlantic Economy Class can enjoy a menu of hot entrees, refreshing salads, breads and desserts depending on the destination. Passengers flying First Class may enjoy healthy meals on flights over 3.5 hours between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.
