McCarran International Airport serves the city of Las Vegas. 44 million passengers fly though the airport each year. In addition to people visiting Las Vegas itself, McCarran acts as a gateway to the Southwest. The Grand Canyon (4 hours from LAS by car), Zion National Park (2 hours by car), and Death Valley (2 hours) are major tourist attractions in the region.

Major airlines: Southwest Airlines and Allegiant Air are major low-cost-carriers that serve LAS. American, Delta, Northwest, and United provide service from their hub cities and focus cities.
Parking: Economy parking costs $8 per day. The price includes shuttle service. Short term parking is $4.50 for three hours. Long term parking near the terminal costs $14 per day.

Ground Transportation
Taxis can be hailed outside of doors 1-4 of the baggage claim area. Fares from McCarran to the Las Vegas Strip are between $10-$20. Shuttle buses also connect the airport with the Strip. Arrangements can be made at the kiosks outside of the baggage claim area. Most trips cost less than $10 per person. Car rental agencies are located in the rental center, which is connected to the baggage claim area by a shuttle bus. Travelers planning to spend their time on the Strip probably do not need to rent a car.

Terminal Information
McCarran has two terminals. Terminal 1 consists of four concourses. The outlying concourses (C and D) are connected with the ticketing and baggage claim area by an automated people mover. Concourses A and B are dominated by US Airways and Southwest Airlines, respectively. Concourse C is used exclusively by Southwest, while Concourse D is the base for all other major domestic carriers. Terminal 2 receives all international flights.

Places to Eat
Starbucks and Cinnabon dominate McCarran with shops on every concourse. Many of the fast-food restaurants (as well as several sit-down places) are located along Concourse C. Terminal 2 features both sit down venues (like Bar One) and fast-food (courtesy of Burger King, among others). Themed eateries like Corcoran's Irish Pub and Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill (both on Concourse C) are popular amongst airport diners.

Amenities
The most unique feature about LAS is its slot machines. There are more than 1,000 machines found throughout the terminals. McCarran is one of the larger airports to offer free wireless internet access. In addition, there is an impressive collection of public art, most of it found in Terminal 1's D Concourse.
