>> Sea seattle tacoma international airport
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, usually referred to as Sea-Tac, is the largest airport in the American Pacific Northwest. It serves the Seattle-Tacoma area and is considered a gateway for travelers with final destinations throughout Western Washington. In addition, Sea-Tac is a major waypoint for passengers from around the US who are traveling to East Asia. The airport serves 32 million passengers per year.
Alternative Airports
Ground transportation information booths are located in the baggage claim area. Travelers can arrange to rent a car at these booths. Taxis can be hailed outside of the baggage claim area. The fare between the airport and Downtown Seattle averages $50. There is a light rail line that connects Sea-Tac with Downtown Seattle. The ride to Downtown takes 33 minutes and costs $2.50. Bus service is also available.
Terminal Information
Sea-Tac has one main terminal and two satellite terminals. The satellites are connected with the main terminal by a tram system. Each satellite has its own restaurants and shops. However, a majority of the airport's restaurants and services are found in the main terminal. The South Satellite is considered the airport's international terminal. United Airlines and Air Canada populate the North Satellite and Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, Southwest Airlines and other major carriers have gates in the main terminal.
Places to Eat
As one might expect, the food and drink offers at Sea-Tac include plenty of specialty coffee shops. There are more sit-down restaurants at this airport than at most others. Options range from upscale eateries like Wolfgang Puck's to bar-and-grill venues like Cascade Lounge to bistro-style restaurants. There is also a respectable line-up of fast-food eateries include McDonald's, Burger King and several Asian-themed vendors.
Amenities
Sea-Tac's unique "Send it Home" kiosks are located near security checkpoints. Passengers who inadvertently pack prohibited items in their carry-on bags can use this service to send the item back home rather than discarding it.
Sea-Tac currently does not offer free wireless internet access, though attempts have been made to find a sponsor to provide free service.
Insider Tip
Seattle has one of the better collections of restaurants of any West Coast airport. It's worthwhile to arrive early and have a bite to eat.
