Napa Valley Weekend

Submitted by zackbeseda on February 9, 2013 12 Comments

Wine country is a great place to spend a few days with a significant other on a honeymoon, anniversary or just a romantic weekend getaway.  Gorgeous scenery, delicious wine, live music and more will delight all the senses while you explore vineyards, restaurants and the beautiful Napa Valley.  Here are some quick tips for making your trip to Napa the ultimate weekend getaway!

First, you’ll want to find some Napa Valley accommodations.  There are plenty of options here but you’ll want something where you won’t feel crowded.  The Mason Fleurie is a pleasant and warm French-style inn featuring finely crafted furniture, rich colors, and comfortable beds where couples can relax and decompress any time of day.  Several of the cozy rooms also include stone fireplaces and Jacuzzis so if those are items on your must-have list, then this is surely the bed and breakfast for you.  There’s also the Wine Country Inn, located in St. Helena.  This romantic boutique hotel is with just a couple miles of 50 wineries and several high class restaurants that will ensure an active weekend even if you’re not looking to do much driving.  However, with world class spa services and year-round food and wine events, there is plenty to do to keep you busy without stepping foot outside.

But you don’t wanna be holed up in your hotel all weekend when you’re in Napa!  There are over 400 wineries to enjoy and the hardest decision will be where to begin your wine tasting adventure.  Visit some of the classic wineries in the area first to get a feel of the traditional Napa experience.  One of these might be the Frog’s Leap winery where you can sip wine on the wraparound porch or take a guided tour of the vineyard.  There’s also the Hess Collection, where you can browse a spectacular collection of modern art in the Contemporary Art Museum as you enjoy some finely aged, high quality wine.

Once you’ve had your fill of wine tasting (for the moment anyway) head over to Dr. Wilkinson’s Spa for some pampering and relaxation.  Located in the heart of wine country, this luxury spa is close to wherever you are and their signature mud bath treatment is sure to be the perfect cap to any day spent exploring the sights and tastes of the Napa Valley.
