It was once the world's most visited destinations for a secret getaway and many of the rich and famous made Acapulco their top choice for parties and special events during its heyday in the '30s.  Acapulco, Mexico has still held onto its roots as a top party destination, and you'll find many legendary clubs and bars throughout the city.  Here's where to enjoy the nightlife scene in Acapulco:

Baby O's is an old disco bar that now caters to the mid-to-late 20s crowd.  The venue serves up great drinks in five bars throughout the venue, and hosts a three dimensional laser show during dance events.  It's one of the largest bars in the city and is a great place to host a party. You'll find it at Costera Aleman 22.

Make your way to El Alebrije for a modern club experience.  This high-tech club boasts beautiful gardens, flaming torches, reflection booths and oversized round tables for large parties.  It's also one of the top destinations for singers and live concerts, and this venue stays open until 5 a.m.  El Alebrije is located at Costera Aleman 3308.

When you're looking for a casual atmosphere and sports bar-style food, head to Carlos 'n' Charlie's.  The fun and laid back atmosphere is a great place to enjoy a few drinks and dancing before heading out to another club.  It's one of the busiest hotspots in town, and is a great place to enjoy cocktails on the terrace.  You'll find it at Costera Aleman 999.

Another party venue with an unpretentious atmosphere is Sr. Frog's.  Head here for cheap drinks and dancing, a different theme each night, and high-energy entertainment all night long.  The venue is packed during Spring Break season, but it's worth a trip regardless of the crowds. Sr. Frog's is located at Carretera Escencia, Comercial La Vista.

If you're looking for something low-key and romantic, don't miss the scene at Siboney.  This elegant bar features classic piano music and first-class service; it's one of the best places to take a date and enjoy a romantic night out on the town.  You'll find it at Carretera Escencia in downtown Acapulco.
