The former British colony of Barbados located east of the Caribbean Sea is a beautiful continental-island nation that is home to several natural wonders and a year-round tropical climate.  IT's become a popular vacation destination for European travelers, and attracts thousands of visitors from around the globe each year.  Whether you're an outdoor adventure-seeker or want to learn about the history of the island, you'll find a wealth of activities to enjoy and sites to see throughout the island.  Here are just some fun things to do in Barbados:

Visit the Barbados Wildlife Reserve:  This beautiful wildlife preservation is located at Farley Hill in Saint Peter.  It sits directly across the street from Farley Hill National Park and is home to native animals, plants and flowers, and also hosts a monkey feeding each day. 

Take the Mount Gay Rum Tour:  Rum is a national specialty in Barbados, so you must take a tour of a rum factory to learn how the rum is made and distributed!  The Mount Gay Rum Tour and Gift Shop is located in St. Michael and offers daily tours of the entire grounds; rum sampling is optional.

See the British Airways Concorde:  The famous Barbados Concorde is housed in a large exhibition centre next to the Grantley Adams International Airport.  Here you can learn about the history of supersonic aviation in Barbados and see the majestic aircraft firsthand.  The British Airways Concorde G-BOAE (also known as the Alpha Echo), is one of the most visited attractions on the islands.

Visit the Ocean Park Aquarium:  Spend the day exploring the Marine Aquarium in Ocean Park to see over 26 aquarium displays that house beautiful exotic fish and native marine life of the Caribbean and Barbados.  The aquarium is home to beautiful tropical gardens and a relaxing seaside garden that the whole family can enjoy.

Go on an Underwater Submarine Adventure:  Hop aboard the Atlantis Submarine to explore the Caribbean Sea over 150 feet below sea level.  This is your chance to see the majestic coral gardens and reefs without getting wet!  The guided tour is a fun activity for underwater enthusiasts of all ages.
