It may be famous for its Indy 500 races and college-town atmosphere, but Indianapolis also boasts a diverse nightlife scene that caters to all tastes and ages.  Indianapolis is home to a number of jazz clubs and urban lounges, ritzy dance clubs and dozens of sports bars that cater to football and basketball enthusiast.  If you want to jump into the nightlife scene in Indianapolis, here's where to set your sights:

Jazz Clubs and Lounges in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Jazz Kitchen is one of the largest music clubs in the city, boasting large performance stages and dozens of great acts throughout the week.  This is the place to catch the Midcoast Swing Orchestra, take part in the latest dance party, or join the Bop Club for some classic be-bop and soul music.  It's been voted one of the Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World by Downbeat Magazine, and it won't take you long to find out why.  Just make your way to 5377 N. College Avenue to get your spot in this popular venue.

When you're looking for live jazz and great cocktails, head to the Chatterbox Club at 435 Massachusetts Avenue.  The venue is located in the heart of the Arts & Theatre Cultural District, and hosts live jazz performances four nights per week.  The bar opens at 4 p.m. each weekday night, and you can even enjoy a free jazz concert on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Dance Clubs in Indianapolis, Indiana

Make your way over to Therapy Nightclub & Lounge for trance, funk, underground hip-hop and soul music throughout the week.  This progressive nightclub is a high-energy venue that also hosts a number of special events and themed parties throughout the week.  You'll find the club at 605 E.
