This coastal city is famous for its historic attractions and nostalgic vibe from an era gone by, but Jacksonville is also home to a number of buzzing nightlife hubs that cater to locals and visitors alike. You'll find several jazz clubs, lounges, dance clubs and sports bars throughout the downtown area, and a number of neighborhood taverns and bistros on the outskirts of the city.  Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach are the best places to make the most of Jacksonville's nightlife scene; here's where to set your sights:

Jazz Clubs and Lounges in Jacksonville

The Twisted Martini on 2 Independent Drive is the place to enjoy live jazz and blues concerts in a chic, urban atmosphere.  It's the best place to take in Jacksonville's 'cocktail culture' and features the Ultra Lounge with VIP tables, as well as a large dance floor.  Head here for you fill of award-winning martinis, tapas and a great jazz experience.

Head to the Ritz Theatre and Museum in downtown Jacksonville for La Villa Grille, a classic jazz and blues lounge that hosts live music throughout the week.  This is a great place to mingle with the locals and enjoy live southern 'roots' jazz by local musicians; it's located at 820 North Davis Street.

Dance Clubs in Jacksonville

Head to the Ocean Club for one of the most popular dance floor experiences in the city.  The venue feature live bands and drink specials throughout the week, and you can head out to the beachfront deck to enjoy the view between shows. 

The Atlantic is another popular dance club and bar near the ocean.  Head here for live music performances, national touring DJs and other special events throughout the week.  This venue typically caters to the 20-something crowd, and continues to be one of the city's hip and trendy nightlife spots.

Plush is a semi-upscale lounge that was once an old cinema.  The two-level club boasts large dance floors, oversized mirrors and a VIP room for those special events and gatherings.  It's been deemed one of Jacksonville's 'mega club's, and is definitely the place to see and be seen on the weekends.

Sports Bars in Jacksonville

Pete's Bar has been deemed a dive bar by locals, and features plenty of 'dive' amenities including PBR service, ping-pong and foosball tables, and a smoky barbecue pit.  It's a popular place to enjoy a non-pretentious, very casual atmosphere any night of the week.

Sneakers Sports Grille is the perfect place to enjoy a Vegas-style experience while watching the game.  It's not a casino, but you'll find plenty of large-screen televisions, bar games and live music acts to keep you busy on any given night; and, the waitresses are dressed like cheerleaders.
