Oklahoma City Nightlife
Oklahoma City has numerous choices for after-dark entertainment. Whether you are looking for a comfortable sports bar or a cosmopolitan nightspot, you’ll be able to find a place to fit in without too much legwork. Oklahoma City also has a growing number of coffee shops and nationally recognized microbreweries.
Here are your best bets for nightlife fun in OKC.
Budget
Cafe Oasis (1135 NW 25th St) in the Asian District is a favorite local hangout spot. Bubble tea is the drink of choice, though there are plenty of other options when it comes to both food and beverages. The décor and atmosphere are unmistakably East Asian.
The NW 39th Street Enclave is home to Oklahoma’s gay community. There are numerous nightlife spots in the area. One of the best is Finishline (2200 N.W. 39th Expy). It is a country music bar that features line dancing lessons and multiple pool tables.
Bricktown Brewery Restaurant (1 N. Oklahoma) is a good value. Their homemade beer is only $2 per large mug during happy hour. They also serve tasty barbecued ribs and a welcoming atmosphere.
Value
If you like a dose of counter-culture cool with your cocktail, try Galileo Bar and Grill (3009 Paseo). This venue in the hip arts district features poetry readings, open mic nights and a kind of speakeasy vibe.
Royal Bavaria Restaurant and Brewery (3401 S. Sooner Rd) is one of the most unique places in town. The seating arrangements mimic that of a German beer hall with large, shared tables. There are live Bavarian music performances most nights. All these elements combine for an unbeatable atmosphere.
Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grille (310 Johnny Bench Drive) bears the name of the famous Oklahoma-bred country music star. There is a large stage that features country acts. It is a good laid back time, but much more of a commercial venture than the honky-tonk it makes itself out to be.
Splurge
Purple Bar (124 E. Sheridan) is one of the most upscale cocktail lounges in the nightlife hot spot of Bricktown. The décor includes purple-hued LED lights and plush seats.
Rane Nightclub (220 E. Sheridan) is, as the name makes it seem, a “see and be seen scene.” If you want to dance, it is a good choice, but it is not as classy as the nearby SKYBAR Ultra Lounge (7 Mickey Mantle Drive), the cocktail lounge of choice for Oklahoma City’s elite.
