Westminster, Colorado is located along Little Dry Creek and was first established in 1870. The city is northwest of Denver and considered a suburb of that metropolitan area. The city incorporated in 1911 renaming itself after the Westminster University. The Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center offers a wonderful indoor tropical rainforest will over 1,000 butterflies filling the air. The Bowles House Museum is a converted farmhouse from the 1870's and it houses the Westminster Historical Society. The city also offers over 2,700 acres of open space for your outdoor recreation.
