Orlando Hotels - JW Marriott

While Orlando today is famous for its resorts and Disney attractions, it has a rich history in an industry outside of tourism; the citrus industry.  There are several citrus groves still standing around Orlando today, and the city has grown considerably from  its years as a citrus supplier.  Orlando began as a small town in the heart of Central Florida, covering just four square miles.  It has since grown to over 100 miles with the rapidly growing tourist industry, and experienced much of this growth after World War II.  When Walt Disney built the Walt Disney World Resort in 1965, thousands of people flocked to the area as tourists, and residents who wanted to either work at Disney World or build their own resort or business in the area.  

There are several attractions and resorts around the JW Marriott, and the hotel offers complimentary transportation to many venues in the surrounding area.  Popular desitnatiosn for travelers include Discovery Cove, SeaWorld’s Aquatica, Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World.  The JW Marriott is also a short drive from International Drive, an area filled with restaurants, attractions and a thriving nightlife.
