Hotel Lucia is one of the finest luxury hotels in the Portland area.  It received glowing hotel reviews from Conde Nast Traveler and was mentioned on the magazine's 2009 Gold List.  Every inch of the hotel is unique (but not unique in an offbeat way).  The Lucia is characterized by cutting edge design and classiness.  The rooms are furnished with mahogany furniture.  Stainless steel and glass elements bring a modern edge to the design, but these elements are all well balanced.  

There are high tech features in each room as well: a flat screen TV, iPod docking station for each room's sound system, and a "get it now" room service button.  There are also unique options like a "pillow menu" and a full room service menu with Thai, Asian fusion, and Continental dishes.  The Lucia is not the answer for those searching for a cheap hotel deal.  However, its luxury is more than enough to entice travelers who prefer a luxury hotel.

Hotel Lucia is located in Downtown Portland.  It is near the city's most notable attractions.  The Pioneer Place Mall is the premier shopping venue, while the boutiques and art galleries of the Pearl District are also nearby.  

Another local attraction is Powell's Books, the largest remaining independent book retailer in the country.  Not only is there a wide selection of new books, but plenty of used and rare volumes as well.  

For those seeking high-brow culture, the Oregon Symphony and Portland Art Museum are within a short distance of Hotel Lucia.
