Chocolate hotel room available in New York City
Manhattan revealed an all-chocolate room today. One would call it a pre-Valentine’s Day creation finished with furniture, candles even artwork made of the goodness that is chocolate.
Heroes star Ali Larter was hired as the celebrity face for its annual Valentine’s Day promo contest. “It’s the perfect bit of sin,” said Ali Larter and Godiva “pearls” are part of her daily indulgence—behind closed doors of course. The “pearls” dripped off chandeliers above a dining table composed of chocolate truffles, stars and crescents.
Anyone who purchases the wining box of chocolates—priced at $23 and up—could win the chocolate room. It will be re-created in a suite in Manhattan’s Bryant Park Hotel for a weekend for two in May. Sold only in North America, the winning box will carry a note notifying the buyer that life is sweet, literally.
Yes indeed, this entire thing is a shameless commercial promotion, but in the end the demo chocolate room set up in an East Village building is filled with a tasty, artsy punch. In the living room, a painting built completely of multicolored pieces was inspired by Gustav Klimt’s painting “The Kiss.” The dining room holds a canvas dripping with brown and white chocolates emulating one of Jackson Pollock’s signature drip paintings. Books open up as boxes of chocolates—brilliant and utterly delectable.
