Airport security options you will like
At the airport, everywhere you turn you have to fall into a line. Each step in the process and you are inching your way to the highly coveted airport gate. Lines seem like they're getting longer and longer; luckily for you, the TSA has come up with lane options designed to suit your "traveling style."
The Transportation Security Administration is testing out a new system, Diamond Lanes, which will allow travelers to select one of three lines that best suits their traveling style-casual traveler, expert traveler, or families and special assistance traveler. Expert business travelers arrive ready with their shoes off and laptops in hand, while families struggling with toddlers and strollers tend to take their time and in the end need more time. The TSA surveyed passengers, and on the top of their wish list was self-selection. Every passenger has a different agenda, therefore a different need.
With the Diamond Lane experiment expert travelers can zoom through and families and special assistance travelers can take their time in a slower lane. These Diamond Lanes are presently being tested at airports in Salt Lake City and Denver. It's no secret the TSA has adopted the skiing culture in this test by using a color-coded system you will find similarly on the slopes. Green circles for families and individuals in need of special assistance, blue squares for casual travelers and black diamonds for experts.
The program is currently running under the honor system as there are no plans to push travelers into specific lines. TSA noted the program has been working and hopes to expand Diamond Lanes into other airports.
