Cut back on the travel expenses, says management
Cut back on the travel expenses, says management
With the economy on a downward slope, more and more companies are targeting a "low-hanging fruit" expense-travel and entertainment. Consultants in the travel industry say that travel is one of the more controllable expenses.
Companies are asking that their employees travel cheaply by booking tickets much more in advance, staying in less-swanky hotels and driving fuel-efficient, economy sized rental cars . Sadly, some companies are forcing their employees to replace trips with webinars or phone conferences.
What's more, your boss may soon tell you to rent economy sized cars without all the "bells and whistles," like navigations systems or forget about reimbursement. Even business diners at fairly priced restaurants are closely watching their bill. Don't count on people fighting to pay the check any longer. You are after all risking your reimbursement check.
