The Transportation Security Administration is trying to tackle one of the biggest airport-security inconveniences-finding a way to let travelers leave their laptops in their cases at security checkpoints.
A "checkpoint-friendly" case would give screeners a transparent view as it goes through an x-ray machine. One potential design would be a case that unfolded like a book, with the laptop on one side and its accessories on the other. Presently, prototypes are being solicited by companies. What's more, these cases could relieve security for the 250 million travelers who carry laptops on airplanes every year and speed lines for everyone.
In the end, what's important is the laptop is separate from the rest of your luggage.
