The Phoenix Theatre New Works Festival is a month long opportunity for public readings of new scripts performed by professionals. After the readings, the audience members are encouraged to offer feed back.

Boys sure do love their toys, no matter how old or how young. The annual Big Boys and Their Toys convention offers every toy a many could dream of or hope for. The weekend is usually scheduled around Father's Day and is the next best thing to getting Dad the toys of his dreams.

The 4th of July kicks off with a bang at the Annual Fabulous Phoenix Fourth. The event is held at the Steel Indian School Park and offers hands-on activities, carnival games & rides, several stages of live entertainment and one of the larges aerial fireworks in the southwest.

You have to see it to believe it, but just outside the Phoenix city limits is the annual Mighty Mud Mania. What started as a promotional event in 1976 for a cleaning product has evolved into a mud free for all. There tons of dirt and water pumped into fresh-dug pits and everyone has a chance to play in the mud without getting into trouble.

The desert sun might beat down during the summer months in Phoenix (particularly in the heat of the day), but there is plenty of ways to beat the heat. The annual events and celebrations are not only a great way to have a little fun but they are also a reminder of the individual spirit that makes Phoenix such a great city in the first place.
