City Stages Biggest Little Music Festival
Friday, June 19th, 2009
The three-day music experience began back in 1989 to create flutters of excitement and draws to business and the Birmingham tourism industry. What makes the City Stages experience so unique is its span of musical genres. Festival goers will be treated to a wide range of musical experiences - from gospel to classic rock to hip hop.
This year marks the 21st year of City Stages in the Birmingham downtown area and the line up is sure to treat all festival goers. Some of the acts that will perform include Lynyrd Skynrd, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Dierks Bently and the Doobie Brothers and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Currently there are around 74 different acts scheduled to perform throughout the three days.
Tickets for City Stages can be purchased at Ticketmaster and start at $45 for the weekend. Children 12 and under get in free when accompanied by a paying adult. Single day passes can also be purchased and start at $28. VIP passes give festival goers access to special areas in the festival along with complimentary beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages and food. Weekend VIP passes start at $200. The "Magic Carpet Ride" is an exclusive package to the festival and only limited numbers of passes are sold each year.
City Stages will go on no matter what the weather and there are no refunds if any portions of the events are canceled. Coolers are not allowed in the festival grounds and festival goers will not be able to go in and out of the festival on Friday or after 6:30 pm during the other nights of the festival.
