The Goombay Festival is a celebration of black history. Each June, visitors come to the Coconut Grove to enjoy what is likely the largest festival of its kind in the United States. The event features a celebration of culture and heritage from the Bahamas. There is plenty of live entertainments, arts, crafts and great food.

The fun and excitement on Miami Beach reaches an explosive point on the 4th of July. The city puts on a full fireworks extravaganza with life music and plenty of family fun.

July is also the time to enjoy the Fairchild's Annual International Mango Festival at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. The Garden contains one of the largest mango collections in the world - with around 400 cultivars. The event features tree sales, but the supplies go quickly so get them while they are still available. There are also mango workshops, a brunch featuring a mango-inspired menu and an auction.

For a bit of quirky fun you need only check out the Parade of Beds & Races. The fun rolls through the streets of Coconut Grove and the event also offers plenty of music and other activities.

You have to play in the sand when you visit Miami and the Super Sand Blast is the perfect opportunity. Kids of all ages enjoy the sand castle building competitions, live music and even free food. The event takes place on Ocean Drive usually in August.
