Great Orlando Wheel Will Join Nation’s Top Landmarks
Florian Bollen, the Chairman of Great Wheel Corporation recently announced the upcoming development of the Great Orlando Wheel that will be built near the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida . The Great Orlando Wheel will be a 400-foot-tall rotating observatory wheel – similar to the London Eye and other observation wheels found throughout the world – and will be a part of a new International Drive resort complex right outside of Disney and Sea World attractions.
The wheel will be designed to provide a half-hour ride in an observation pod, rotating at a steady pace so that guests can enjoy a near birds-eye view of the city and parks. The Great Orlando Wheel will be able to accommodate 960 visitors, and provides a 360-degree view of the Orlando cityscape. The view stretches out up to 25 miles on a clear day, and may soon become a popular place to host events and ceremonies for many area businesses and visitors.
The Great Orlando Wheel will be yet another key attraction to visit when traveling to the greater Orlando area, visiting Disney theme parks or taking a vacation to Universal Studios. It will also be a valuable attraction for cultivating more business at the convention centers, giving businesses and corporate convention planners another reason to choose Orlando as a destination for conferences and events.
The wheel is expected to cost up to $60 million, and will be built by the same company who have designed several of the world's top tourist wheels and attractions. A Venetian-themed hotel and other notable attractions will be built around the wheel to cater to even more tourists and visitors. Currently, Orlando is home to several unique attractions on International Drive and surrounding area; the recently opened Aquatica by Sea World attraction and several new rides at Disney World are helping fuel Central Florida's tourist economy and attract more visitors from around the globe.
