Central America is not the first place that most people think about when it comes to a great beach vacation.  The East Coast of the United States and especially Florida is usually top of the list.  Mexico is also a hot spot for beach goers.  The Central American countries not only offer great beaches but also affordable prices and unique experiences for travelers.

Belize is located between Mexico and Guatemala along the Caribbean coast.  It offers one of the largest barrier reefs in the hemisphere and is great for snorkeling or diving.  The interior portion of the country is home to ancient Maya sites and lush rainforests.  It also offers some great deals for economy drained travelers.

Raguana Lodge, Placencia Belize is within walking distance of restaurants, gift shops and banks.  There are five private beachfront cabins that offer private beds and air conditioning.  Cabins start at only $88 US per night.

Pelican Reef Villas is Summer Specials that provide a 20% or 30% discount to visitors.  It offers onsite activities, golf cart rentals, complimentary bikes and kayaks and housekeeping services.  Specials do not include the 9% Belize Hotel Tax that will be charged.

The Belize Jungle Adventure offered by the Singing Sands Inn, Placencia is an all-inclusive vacation package that gives visitors a taste of the jungle and the beach.  Singing Sands Inn is a private and secluded seafront resort and is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway.  The package includes a tour of the Cockscomb Jaguar Preserve or a Monkey River Expedition.  The packages start at $950 per person for 5 nights and six days.

Budget worried consumers can also find good deals on airline tickets as the airline industry struggles to overcome last year's high fuel costs and this year's trouble economy.  It just takes a little effort to uncover a great beach vacation in Central America.
