The Texas Folklife Festival is a three day family friendly event that celebrates cultures from around the world. There is a wide array of ethnic foods, world music and traditional folk dances that span the globe. The programs are designed for people of all ages to participate and have fun.

The FORD Canoe Challenge is a fun way to enjoy the uniqueness of San Antonio. The race begins at the Chamber of Commerce and then heads east. Racers go around the Convention Center Lagoon and through the River Center Mall Lagoon. Definitely not something you see in the downtown region of most major cities. The even includes local celebrities, city officials and other teams in timed heats.

The Annual San Antonio Conjunto Shootout offers an unusual experience. Stages set up so that they are facing each other to allow around 25 bands to do battle to determine the best. There is more than just music. There is art, dancing and lots of great food.
