Royal Caribbean Announces Oasis of the Seas Shopping Experience

Royal Caribbean NewsRoyal Caribbean has announced the debut of its exclusive Oasis of the Seas open-air shopping complex that will be available to all passengers by December 2009. The 10,000 square foot shopping plaza will features a variety of retail venues including 13 stores, duty-free shopping and teen-friendly boutiques. This will be the largest selection of boutiques and shops on board a cruise ship in the entire industry, and will include luxury boutiques such as a Coach, Lucky Brand, Forest & Fauna and Eileen Fisher.

The stores will be set up in Central Park, the Royal Promenade and the Boardwalk neighborhood of the cruise ship, and offer cruise travelers to enjoy duty-free shopping at all of their favorite designer boutiques and gift stores at any time during their stay. According to Lisa Bauer, senior vice president of hotel operations at Royal Caribbean International, "We've been fortunate to gain the support of a number of iconic brands that are eager to be part of the Oasis experience and are pleased that we can deliver upon guest feedback to offer more shopping opportunities onboard." The Coach store will be hosting a grand opening event that offers shoppers an exclusive leather luggage tag embossed with the iconic horse and carriage logo in gold, as a free gift with any purchase. Other stores will be showcasing some of the latest fashions and accessories from the runways. The Boardwalk on the Royal Caribbean will also feature a play area called the Pinwheel so that kids can play while parents shop. The Pinwheels store features clothing and accessories just for kids, but will also be equipped with a LEGO play area and activity centers for younger children.

Shoppers that want to relax after a busy day of gift shopping can pick up sunglasses, reading materials and other accessories from Breeze, a store that specializes in pool and beach accessories for all travelers.
