The Atlanta Arts Festival is held in September in Piedmont Park. The event features local, regional and national artists, an artist market, competitions for the artists and live entertainment. The event is free to the public.
The JapanFest Atlanta is the largest festival of its kind in the region. The weekend long event explores the culture and history of the Japanese people in the Atlanta area. There will be exhibitions, hands-on workshops, liver performances and much more. The JapanFest is a great time for the family and children 6 and under get in free.
The fun continues into October with the Atlanta Greek Festival. You can experience the traditions and customs of the Greek Islands for four full days right in the heart of the South. There will be music, dancing, food and plenty of fun.
October weekends you will want to make time to visit Stone Mountain Park. The month long Annual Pumpkin Festival features a maze, pumpkin tree, pumpkin carving, and pumpkin pie eating contest. There is also live entertainment for the whole family.
Also in October are the Stone Mountain Highland Games. The area is filled with the sound of bagpipes, fiddles and harps. The event draws participants from around the world for dancing, competitions and life entertainment.
