Things to do in Los Angeles in the Fall

Los Angeles offers a wide range of activities and events throughout the year. You can find some of the best times for the whole family during the fall season. There is music, food and fun to be had around every turn of the calendar.

The Sweet & Hot Music Festival is a four day event that celebrates the Golden Age of Popular Music. It is not just a festival. It is a jazz party - swing, be bop, big bands, Dixieland and classic jazz fill the 8 venues around the festival. There are also 5 dance floors for you to "twist the night away." Bring your dancing shoes and your second wind because you will definitely need both.

The Alpine Village takes Oktoberfest to a whole new level. From September into October, the music, dancing, food and beer are flowing freely. The event is the largest and oldest Oktoberfest in the region and is a complete celebration of the Bavarian culture. There are games, prizes and lots of fun through out the entire event.

The Farmers Market Fall Festival is a fun time for the whole family. It includes a petting zoo for those who want the hands on experience with different animals from the farm. There is also pie eating contests, arts, crafts and even pig races. You will find plenty of live performances that are a perfect treat for the whole family.

The Los Angeles International Tamale Festival is held at the end of October into the first of November. Admission to the three day event is free. There are tamale eating contests, tamale making demonstrations, activities for the kids, arts, crafts and free entertainment.

Los Angeles and the surrounding communities have something to offer for everyone. The months through the fall season are packed with plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
