Royal Caribbean Unveils Best Price Guarantee Program
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
According to Betsy O’Rourke, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Royal Caribbean International, the Best Price Guarnatee “gives guests peace of mind, allowing them to plan ahead, book early and get the staterooms and excursions that they want with no worries that a better deal will come along after they’ve committed.”
This guarantee goes into effect immediately after booking the cruise trip, and is in effect until 72 hours before sailing. If a guest finds a lower advertised fare for their specific package or room, they can contact their travel agent or Royal Caribbean directly to make a request for a refund. Royal Caribbean will not be issuing a cash or credit card refund, but will instead give the guest a credit towards onboard activities and services. To be eligible, the fare must be available for the same ship, sailing, category and number of guests as the booked trip, and must be available at the time the request for a lower rate is made. This means that passengers who find a lower advertised fare that is sold out will not be able to get a credit.
The price protection guarantee is not valid on Royal Sales Event fares, Exciting Deals rates, Travel Agent, Interline or Industry Reduced Rates. Still, there are no forms to fill out and price reductions are available outside of final payment on some trips.
