Things to do in New York City in the Fall

New York City is a true blend of cultures, traditions and history.  There is always something new going on in and around the city.  The cool breezes of the fall season blow in some of the best events fro the whole family to enjoy.

The fall season kicks of with the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy.  This ten day event is a salute to the Patron Saint of Naples.  There is a parade, including religious ceremonies to honor the Saint.  The event also features cannoli eating contests and cannoli vendors.  You'll enjoy the great entertainment, amazing food and the family atmosphere.

The New York Film Festival is a 12 day event held around the first of October.  It is open to all filmmakers and drawer entries from around the globe.  Many of the entries are well-established so the competition for acceptance is set at a very high level. 

Carnival comes to New York with the West Indian American Day Carnival. The event includes a wide range of traditional cuisine including jerk chicken, oxtail, macaroni pie, curry goat and many more dishes.  Enjoy the steel drums, elaborate costumes, and the wide variety of other events during the festival.  Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or ruined - traditional powder, paint and dye throwing are part of the festivities. 

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a tradition all over the United States – thanks to the power of technology. Experiencing the tradition first hand is something that will likely become one of those treasured memories. Dress warm – it can get cold along the streets of New York in late November.

The fall months are a great time to visit the Big Apple. There are a number of events and activities through out the season that are great for the whole family.
