Hurtigruten Unveils Six Winter Themed Cruise Packages

Travelers interested in breaking away for the winter holidays on a cruise vacation can take a multi-day voyage to Norway with one of the Hurtigruten 'Layaway Getaway' packages. Hurtigruten has unveiled six unique cruise itineraries and packages for travelers that want to sail along the stunning 1,250-mile west coast of Norway, explore the Arctic Circle, and experience the Northern Lights Festival in Tromso. Fares for these specialty packages range from $2,499 to $6,048 per person with double occupancy. Rates are slightly higher for suite packages.

Included in the lineup of tours is the 12-day Arctic Voyage and Snow Hotel tour, the Arctic Highlights Tour, the Sami Day and Reindeer Races package, the Ice Hotel Adventure, the 10-Day Northern Lights Festival and the Digital Photography vacation.

The 12-Day Arctic Voyage and Snow Hotel tour includes an overnight stay in Bergen and a trip to the Art Nouveau towns of Alesund and Molde. The ship goes through the towns of Tromso to leave guests for an overnight stay at the Kirkenes Snow Hotel Suite.

The Arctic Highlights Tour is an eight-day trip to the mainland of Norway with stops at Akershus Castle and the Nobel Peace Center. Travelers also have the chance to see the Northern Lights.

The Sami Day and Reindeer Races package gives guests a chance to enjoy the cultural hub of Norway's capital city and watch the annual reindeer racing championship.

The Ice Hotel Adventure includes a trip to the quaint fishing village of Honnigsvag, a trip to the edge of the Artic Circle, and an overnight stay at the historic Alta Igloo Hotel. This tour package also includes an overnight stay in Oslo and a night of self-guided adventures.

The 10-Day Northern Lights Festival experience is designed to celebrate the first dawn of the year with a trip to Bergen, one of Europe's 'secret capitals', and a scenic tour along the Norwegian coastline. The trip includes a stop at the Arctic Cathedral and an overnight stay in Oslo.

The Digital Photography vacation experience gives amateur photographers a chance to take pictures of the Norwegian vistas and enjoy a sailing trip around the northern coastline. This tour also includes an overnight stay in Oslo and an excursion to celebrate the Norhtern Lights festival.
